Watch Brad Pitt Killing Them Softly In New Trailer

The greaser look isn't that attractive, but for some magical reason, Brad Pitt pulls it off!

Along with the slick hair, it looks like he pulls off a pretty good role as a hitman in the upcoming crime drama, Killing Them Softly.

Pitt plays an enforcer who investigates a sloppy heist during a mob-protected poker game and from what we can tell from the trailer (above), he doesn't have too much trouble finding the guy.

At least the guilty parties are going to get offed by one of the hottest men to ever grace the screen!

Pitt's good looks aren't the only thing this movie has to offer though. Killing Them Softly features organized crime veterans like Ray Liotta and James Gandolfini as well as the talented, yet relatively unknown Scoot McNairy. Let's not forget Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins either!

Jason Somerville Comes Out, First Openly Gay Pro Poker Player!

Jason Somerville Gay

Congrats, Jason!

Jason Somerville is awesome at poker. So much so that he's a professional poker player and makes a living off of it.

Now, it turns out, Jason is gay! He's just come out officially — which makes him the first prop poker player to be openly gay!

We're so proud of him!!

So how did he do it?

In a long, well-written blog post:

Of all the diversity and variety that the poker world contains, though, there is a noticeable lack of openly gay poker professionals. Vanessa Selbst is a top tier player, a brilliant woman and an amazing person, but other than her, I’ve never met a single gay professional poker player, nevermind a high profile one. There’s plenty of speculation – Daniel Negreanu, Tom Dwan, and a few other big name players who are actually very straight have received plenty of attention from the gossip forums as being potentially gay for having a few mannerisms simply perceived that way.

They’re not gay, though, and no man who is a well-known pro in poker is open about it. I’m not quite sure why exactly that is, and of course everyone is entitled to be as open as they want to be about their personal lives, but for there to be zero high-profile openly not-straight men in poker seems…bad. Archaic. Reflective of a community that isn’t open to all, when we actually are one of the most open communities in existence. Maybe it’s not because of something unique to poker, and it’s just a relic of the old-school mentality when the world’s default mindset was at best “don’t ask, don’t tell,” but, come on, it’s 2012. Whatever the reason… zero??

I’ve struggled with how to discuss this, with how to balance my desire for privacy with the fact that I do want to be myself publicly – and the fact that I think it’s overdue for a guy to be open about it in poker. I’m no Daniel Negreanu, the royalty of real talk, but I do pride myself on saying what I think and simply being who I am; but I suppose you could say in the past being “truly myself” has come with a bit of an asterisk. Privately, amongst friends, I can say I’ve been doing that for some amount of time – but publicly, and in poker, that hasn’t completely been the case. I haven’t exactly always been where I am now, though, and haven’t really been ready to share my story publicly. Privacy reasons excepted, that won’t be the case any more.

Very well put!

We hope this can be an inspiration to those struggling with the idea of coming out with their full identity. We know it's hard, but it's worth it, and we can stand together!!

Good luck in the tournaments, Jason!

Tobey Maguire Folds & Pays Up To Have High-Stakes Poker Lawsuit Disappear

toby-magire.jpg

You gotta know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em! And it seems like Tobey Maguire is all out!

You'll recall that earlier this year, Tobey was caught in a full house of trouble along with 22 other people, who were getting sued for winning money in allegedly illegal poker games from a Beverly Hills hedge fund manager. The Ponzi schemer took them all for a run for their money, but it's exactly money that will see Tobey out of this whole mess.

Last week, the involved parties

A-Rod Goes Back To The Card Tables

A-Rod playing poker

At least they were legal this time!

Alex Rodriguez was spotted playing high-stakes poker at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Pennsylvania, while in town for several rehab games with the minor league Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.

Employees and fans were surprised to see the injured third baseman gambling after his latest scandal involving an underground (and illegal) poker ring alongside other notable celebrities.

Although he wasn't doing anything illegal, some felt he shouldn't be risking his image. One Pennsylvania fan said:

"If you get in trouble for playing cards, then put the cards down. Yeah it's legal but its about his image. I'll tell you what he should do. Play chess. I don't know anyone who got in trouble for that."

However, A-Rod tells a different version from the employees and patrons at the casino that night. He maintains he only dined at the casino's Ruth's Chris steakhouse and called the gambling reports "laughable".

We're sure there were PLENTY of other restaurants around town that weren't located in a casino, so we doubt it was the steak that lured him near the tables. We're also inclined to take the word of SEVERAL dozen witnesses that saw him enter the high-limit gaming room.

It's not a big deal, A-Rod! Not ALL gambling is a crime, just the kind you got caught doing a few weeks ago! LOL!

A-Rod May Face MLB Suspension For Illegal Gambling

A-Rod suspension

Uh oh! Alex Rodriguez could be in the some big trouble with the MLB for his participation in Hollywood's illegal poker ring.

The Yankee, who witnesses say played in two games that went horribly awry, has been ordered by Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig to appear before investigators over tge allegations.

A spokesman for the MLB told sources:

"We take this very seriously and have been investigating this matter since the initial allegation. As part of the investigation, the Commissioner's Office will interview Mr. Rodriguez."

An anonymous insider in the baseball community has said the commissioner is "totally fed up with him" after warning the third baseman to stay away from illegal gambling in 2006. So fed up that the insider says "a possible suspension would be very much in play."

It sounds like A-Rod has really done it this time! We understand he likes to gamble, but isn't that what Las Vegas or Atlantic City is for? We're sure he could blow his money just as easily legally as he has illegally!

A-Rod Gambled In Illegal Hollywood Poker Ring

A-Rod Poker face

If you haven't heard yet, a bunch of Hollywood A-listers like Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck are all allegedly involved in an illegal underground poker ring in Hollywood!

Maguire is actually being SUED by the victims of hedge fund manager Brad Ruderman, who used investor money to pay the Spiderman star off during the illegal games!

NOW sources are saying that another A-lister allegedly participated in these games. A-ROD!

Eyewitnesses say Yankees player Alex Rodriguez, who is dating Cameron Diaz, played in two of these games which were organized by "a stunning brunette" named Molly Bloom.

Even more despicable, it is rumored that the third baseman had an AFFAIR with Molly!

While it sounds like A-Rod just wanted to risk some of his millions, sources allege the games featured drugs, fights, and thugs on top of the illegal gambling.

Poker pro Dan Bilzerian revealed that in the MLB players first game at a million dollar Beverly Hills mansion, a player "got all coked up" refused to pay his debt and a fight nearly broke out.

In some redeeming nature, A-Rod did not want anything to do with the drama, as the Bilzerian said:

"He just shook his head, not knowing what the hell happened. He didn’t want to deal with it at all. He was like, ‘OK, whatever. It’s your game.’ I would estimate A-Rod lost, like, a few thousand dollars that night. After everything that happened, he paid-up and left.”

That's kinda good, we guess…but he STILL didn't learn his lesson!

A-Rod organized another game in his Miami mansion with the help of Molly Bloom, which didn't go so well either. A “dubious” card shark lost tens of thousands of dollars and called in several thugs in a bid to intimidate rival players and avoid paying his debt. An insider revealed:

“The thugs were big and aggressive and were sent to the game with one goal in mind: so their friend could attempt to escape paying what he owed. A-Rod was freaked out by the company he was keeping and left the game with Molly.”

Is that when the affair began?

These serious allegations are fairly damaging. Although A-Rod's reps are swearing he was not involved, the MLB had previously warned him to stay out of illegal poker clubs and is performing their own investigation.

This would be a terrible end to such a strong career for Alex!
