Kylie Jenner might be one of the most recognizable beauty moguls on the planet, but when the sun goes down in Los Angeles, don’t expect to find her bouncing between velvet-rope clubs.
Instead, the reality TV star turned billionaire businesswoman is apparently spending her evenings doing something a lot more unexpected: hosting intense poker nights at home with boyfriend Timothée Chalamet and his artsy circle of friends. Yes, really!

In a new interview tied to her Vanity Fair Spring issue cover story, the Kylie Cosmetics founder spilled some surprisingly low-key details about her nightlife habits. And while many people might assume the 28-year-old’s evenings are filled with glam parties and celebrity-packed events, she revealed that her favorite after-hours activity involves cards, chips, and some serious competitive energy:
“I grew up here [in Los Angeles], but I don’t really have, like, a nightlife — I play a lot of poker.”
And apparently she wasn’t exaggerating! Kylie explained that she frequently hosts poker nights right at her own home, and the guest list is anything but boring. Among the people she’s played with recently is painter Jonas Wood, whose own art-world poker gatherings have attracted some seriously famous players.
Kylie even admitted she had just played a game the night before sitting down for the interview:
“Last night wasn’t a good night for me.”
Hey, even billionaires lose sometimes!
Still, it sounds like Kylie loves the thrill of the table, especially when the stakes — and personalities — are high. Some of the players who’ve shown up to these art-meets-casino nights include Hollywood heavyweights like Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen DeGeneres, and Jack Black. And according to Kylie, those kinds of players make the game a lot more exciting:
“I love playing with them because they bet big and they juice the pot. When you play a lot, to play with people who play it safe all the time sometimes isn’t as fun. It’s challenging because then they’re betting big.”
So, how did Kylie even get into poker in the first place? Surprisingly, it all started just a couple of years ago during a casual trip with friends. She admitted she originally had no idea how the game worked — until the guys at the table decided to teach her:
“All the boys were playing poker and I didn’t really understand it. They just taught me how to play. And then I started watching tournaments and that’s when I became obsessed.”
Once Kylie gets into something, she clearly goes all in. The reality star says her competitive streak is a big reason she fell so hard for the game:
“It feels really good when you’re up.”
She’s even got some beginner advice for anyone who wants to try their luck at the table:
“If you’re just getting started with poker, I recommend you have a drink, relax and use a little cheat sheet. You can look up online ‘what are all the hands I can win with’ and you can just look at your phone and always be checking what you have. The more you play, the better you get. It’s true.”
Love it!
As for Timothée, the Oscar-nominated actor is reportedly a big poker fan himself, so it makes sense the couple would bond over a little friendly competition. Which, uh, okay! In Hollywood, apparently the hottest invite isn’t always a nightclub. Sometimes it’s a seat in Kylie’s living room with a deck of cards and a very full pot.
