Michelle Obama And Paula Deen In The Middle Of A Food Fight

Michelle Obama and Paula Deen feud

Where's the beef? Rumor has it that it's between Michelle Obama and Paula Deen!

Both are busy promoting books with very different messages. Michelle's American Grown advocates eating homegrown veggies, while Paula Deen's Southern Cooking Bible advocates buying a deep frier.

The rumored feud arose because of Michelle's 2008 guest appearance on Paula's Party, which occurred before Barack was elected leader of the free world and before Michelle launched her nationwide healthy eating initiative.

Paula not only references her encounter with the First Lady in her latest cookbook, but has also been pointing out Michelle's not-so-healthy eating habits in interviews, saying:

"She’s no different than the rest of us. She probably ate more than any other guest I ever had on the show! She kept eating even during commercials. Know what (the Obamas’) favorite foods are? Hot wings. Y’know – those kinds of foods that aren’t necessarily top-of-the-list healthy foods.”

A source then told the National Enquirer that Michelle is NOT happy that the celeb chef is flapping her gums about her family's favorite greasy snacks. The source goes on to suggest Michelle believes it's an attack on her husband's presidency, saying:

“Michelle’s spitting mad. She thinks Paula is trying to smear her and her family just as the 2012 presidential election race swings into gear.”

Deen, on the other hand, is denying any reports of a food feud between the two and has changed her tune a bit when describing Mrs. Obama's eating habits, explaining:

"There's no truth in the story that Mrs. Obama called me to stop talking about her appearance on my program. We had the best time when she came on the show and I taught her how to make fried shrimp and fries. It was easy to see by her buff arms that the first lady follows a healthy lifestyle. But it didn't stop her from enjoying the food. Everything in moderation!"

We agree with that! There's nothing wrong with eating buffalo wings, french fries, or fried shrimp as long as they aren't being eaten every meal!

Based on President Obama's words to Jay Leno on The Tonight Show this week, it sounds like Michelle is still very much committed to encouraging the nation to eat healthier. He talked about his wife's candy treat selection for Halloween trick-or-treaters, saying:

"Halloween is coming up. [Michelle has] been giving, for the last few years, the kids fruit and raisins in the bag. And I said, 'The White House is going to get egged if this keeps up.' We need to throw some candy in there. A couple Reese's Pieces or something."

LOLz! Yes, if there is ever a day to cheat on your healthy diet, Halloween is it!

Boo! Gov. Rick Perry Signs Antigay Pledge!

Another raging homophobe running for the presidency. Fantastic.

We knew that Texas' Governor Rick Perry had his platform against gay marriage, but after he applauded New York's decision to make same-sex marriage legal, we hoped he had seen the light. Plus, he's always been all about individual states' rights, so even if he were lucky enough to make it to the Oval Office, we thought that would mean he would let New York and the other states keep their legislation intact.

Yeah, not so much.

Today, Gov. Perry signed a pledge

President Obama Talks Politics And Life On Oprah

obama-on-oprah-show.jpg

It was a first for the Oprah show.

She endorsed President Obama during his '08 campaign, but she's never had a sitting president and the first lady appear on her talk show before.

President Obama and Michelle talked about life in the White House in an interview that was taped last week, just days before a mission was to be carried out to kill Osama bin Laden.

Seeming cool and collected, Obama talked about living inside the "the bubble" of presidency and missing out on some of his daughters' growing up and their most memorable moments.

He also spoke about the absurdity around the birth certificate controversy, calling those who seek attention "carnival barkers." He told Oprah that "reality TV is seeping into how we think about our politics."

Obama also revealed that he believes that many think the American dream is "slipping away." He wants his legacy to provide hope for the American people and know that there is always opportunity if they work hard and do the right things.

With the killing of the world's #1 terrorist, Obama has definitely restored a feeling of pride and hope in the American people. We have a feeling that Obama's legacy will be quite an extraordinary one.

New Gingrich And Rick Santorum Suspended From Fox News

But not for doing anything wrong — they’re both considering a run for presidency.

According to Fox News, the suspension isn’t any sort of punishment — just standard procedure. Both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum have 60 days to notify Fox that they are not running for president, otherwise their contracts will be terminated.

Gingrich is expected to announce whether or not he’ll run on Thursday.

Fox has yet to take any action on Sarah Palin or Mike Huckabee — both who are potential candidates for the election.

Wyclef Jean Comes To His Senses

It's over. It's done. Wyclef Jean no longer wants to be President of Haiti.

He made the official announcement this morning, conceding that his bid was rejected by the Haitian elders and he had no more fight left in him. In his statement, he explained:

"After weeks of quiet but painstaking reflection with my wife and daughter, I have chosen to end my bid for the presidency of Haiti. This was not an easy conclusion to reach; but it is one that was thoughtfully made…Though my run for the presidency was cut short, I feel it was not in vain."

Cue Carly Simon!
