Eat Your Fruits And Veggies — OR ELSE!!

white 1

You should be aiming for 10 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Most of us don’t unfortunately. A multi-vitamin can help, but slowly increase your vegetable intake if you want a strong and healthy body. 1 serving = 1 cup of raw vegetables, 1 medium sized fruit or ½ cup of chopped fruits or vegetables.

Taco Bell Pulls Ad Because It's Offensive To Vegetarians??

First off, what self-respecting vegetarian is going to Taco Bell?? Ha!

Secondly, are there THAT MANY of them that Taco Bell wants to pull an ad for being not offensive at all?

The new ad (above) has a voice-over laying into people who bring veggies to Super Bowl sports(?) parties — aka Game Day — because it's lazy, not because they're veggies. Vegetarians are pissed because they think it's anti-veggie!

While we're not sure how legit jOBS is going to be as far as facts go, we're willing to push that aside to see how Ashton Kutcher does in the role — and even more so if he's THIS dedicated!!

Apparently the diet he was on DESTROYED him, and sent him to the hospital!!

Make Vegetables More Exciting To Eat!

Lisa D Tip Pic

Everyone knows they should be eating vegetables! But sometimes veggies just seem so… boring.

How to make vegetables more exciting to eat:

1. Buy the frozen steam bags of veggies, they cook in the microwave in 5 minutes

2. Drizzle olive oil and garlic salt over steamed broccoli

3. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over steamed veggies

4. Order pizza with light cheese, extra sauce and veggie toppings

5. Buy a low calorie ranch dip and snack on veggies and dip

6. Place steamed veggies in a bowl, add a slice of low fat cheese, melt in microwave

7. Buy precut veggies at the market and keep in the fridge ready to eat

Remember you will not gain weight from eating too many vegetables!

Eat More Veggies For Breakfast!

Eating lots of vegetables is important for a Fit lifestyle! Start adding them to the most important meal of the day for an extra boost of energy and to kickstart your metabolism.

The easiest way is to have an assortment of vegetables prepared and ready to go! I like to peel and cube different squash (like butternut, acorn or kabocha) or mild roots (golden beets, parsnips or turnips) and bake in the oven until soft (400 degrees for 30-40 minutes). Store in the fridge until ready to use! If I want a sweet breakfast, I'll reheat the veggies, and garnish with chopped nuts, spice (like cinnamon, cardamon or nutmeg) greek yogurt and a drizzle of agave.

Want something savory? Try adding grated cheese, bacon bits and green onions! The possibilities are endless, nutritious and delicious!

FitPerez Present: Recipe Of The Day In 4 Ingredients!

Mango Chicken Curry

Curry is one of my favorite recipes in the entire world! It's one of the easiest dishes to master, and once you do - the possibilities are endless! Try substituting the chicken for other types of meat, and the mangoes for other vegetables. If you want a Thai style curry, follow the same recipe using a red or green Thai style curry paste instead.

1 pound chicken breast or thighs, cut into cubes
1 tablespoon (or more to taste) Indian style curry powder
2 mangos, peeled and sliced
1/2 can coconut milk

Add oil to a pan, and cook chicken over medium heat, until brown. Add the curry powder, and cook for another few minutes. Stir in coconut milk and mangoes, and cook until chicken is done - about 5-10 minutes. Serve with your favorite rice or quinoa, and enjoy!
