21 Savage To Be Released From ICE Detention -- As Celebs Continue To Show Support!

21 Savage

21 Savage finally going to be a free man!
Per the latest from TMZ, the rapper will be released on bond from ICE detention, while a deportation hearing is still pending.
This hopeful news comes more than a week since the Dominica-born rapper was arrested on Super Bowl Sunday, for allegedly overstaying his U.S. visa.

21’s trio of lawyers Charles H. Kuck, Dina LaPolt and Alex Spiro reached out to TMZ, asking the outlet to share the heartfelt message (below) with the public:

“21 Savage asked us to send a special message to his fans and supporters — he says that while he wasn’t present at the Grammy Awards, he was there in spirit and is grateful for the support from around the world and is more than ever, ready to be with his loved ones and continue making music that brings people together. He will not forget this ordeal or any of the other fathers, sons, family members, and faceless people, he was locked up with or that remain unjustly incarcerated across the country. And he asks for your hearts and minds to be with them.”

Wow. Powerful! It sounds like 21 and his team are remaining optimistic, as their battles with immigration are far from over. The fact that he remained in custody this long, despite the fact that he isn’t exactly a flight risk speaks volumes in itself.
In the meantime, a massive social media campaign titled 21 Ways You Could Be Detained If You’re Undocumented in America just dropped, with a slew of celebs showing solidarity and support for Savage.
Ya know, instead of starting a petty Instagram beef over a meme mocking the entire situation…
The star-studded vid featuring Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, DJ Khaled, Jesse Williams, SZA, J. Cole, T.I., Future, Mike Tyson and America Ferrera was produced by Mic, who created the #21Ways campaign.
Check out the powerful and informative video campaign (below):

We’re hopeful that things will take a turn for the better as 21 savage comes home.
