Don’t read if you don’t want to know Jack Bauer’s fate!

Executive producer of 24 Howard Gordon has revealed that Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) will not be getting a happy ending when the series finale airs on May 24.

“We considered several very different endings,” he says. “We tried ‘happily ever after’ and it didn’t work. This show is a tragedy. To give Jack a happy ending wouldn’t have felt authentic.”

Gordon reveals that a final showdown will take place involving Jack’s friend Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and President Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones).

It’s expected that Jack will survive though since a 24 movie is potentially in the works.
