Tara Taylor loves her three-year-old daughter, Rylee!
She took a super cute pic of her and posted it to Facebook, getting several compliments (Seriously, so adorable (above)!), but also some incredible advice.
In the photo, Rylee’s left eye, and only her left, had an eerie glow to it. Two of Tara’s friends urged her to take Rylee to a vision specialist.
After going to her pediatrician, she went to a retina specialist. They immediately diagnosed Rylee with Coats’ disease.
This rare condition causes loss of vision or even blindness in one eye because of an abnormal development of the blood vessels behind the retina.
Tara said there were no indications that Rylee had vision problems, saying:
“She didn’t sit close to the TV. She is actually in gymnastics and can walk on the balance beam.”
Thankfully, that Facebook photo caught the disease early and Rylee can now be treated!
