
Disney has announced that starting next year all pictures coming out of its Pixar animation studio will be released in 3-D!
Should we thank box office bonanza Hannah Montana in 3-D for the madness?
3-D makes big bucks!
3-D is such big biz that it’s getting the four big studios – Disney, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, and Universal Pictures – to work TOGETHER. The big boys are going to help finance and equip 10,000 screens in the U.S. and Canada to accommodate 3-D movies. The conversion will cost as much as $700 million and take three years.
That’s a lot of money!
So does that mean the studios are seeing profits of in the billions?
Expect a new Toy Story film in 3-D from Disney to hit theaters around November of 2009!
