E.L. James‘ 50 Shades of Grey has become the best-selling British book of all time and even blew Harry Potter out of the water.
But that doesn’t mean Potter’s creator has also been whipped into the frenzy!
Despite the record-breaking sales figures, J.K. Rowling doesn’t really give a damn and doesn’t have any desire to waste her time on the guilty pleasure!
In a recent interview, the world-famous author revealed, “I promised my editor I wouldn’t [read it].”
You’d think she might at least be CURIOUS to read the erotic fan fiction that beat out her magical boy wonder, but NOPE!
When asked if she feels like she may be missing out on the landmark literature of our time, she responded:
“Not wildly.”
So there ya have it!
Mz. James may have won over the elicit hearts and dirty minds of the general public, but she hasn’t quite earned respect from one of the most celebrate authors of our time.
Maybe that can change if she follows Rowling’s lead and switches genres for her next novel!
