Earlier this month, we told you how Mexico’s Supreme Court upheld a Mexico City law that legalized same-sex marriage in the city which must be recognized in the rest of the country.
But now there’s even better news.
Gays can finally adopt in Mexico!!!
In a 9 to 2 vote, Mexico’s Supreme Court has passed the law allowing gays to adopt. The law currently only applies to adoptions in Mexico City, but other cities must recognize all adoptions made there as legal.
And although many gathered outside the court to protest, others celebrated the great news.
Congrats on this huge step towards equality!
