Phew!
A U.S. appeals court cleared Tyler Perry of claims that he stole the idea for his film Diary Of A Mad Black Woman.
Playwright Donna West brought the case against Perry which was dismissed in 2008 after jurors decided she didn’t have enough evidence to support her claim.
She then launched an appeal, but yesterday it was ruled that there was no improper conduct in the original trial.
West claimed that Perry could have gained access to her script for her play Fantasy of A Black Woman back in 1998 when they both presented plays at the Dallas Black Academy of Arts and Letters.
Close call for Tyler!
