The Golden Globes To Go On????

Despite the writers strike, the Golden Globes might proceed as scheduled…if the ceremony is not televised.
Why????
The show is set to be broadcast on NBC, part of the media conglomorates that are refusing to bargain with the writers.
If the show airs, then that’s more money for NBC and a win for the big evil media companies.
If the Hollywood Foreign Press, who owns the Globes, agrees to go on with the show without broadcasting it, then the Writers Guild is said to not picket the show.
More so, if the show doesn’t air on NBC, the Writers Guild will encourage all its members to attend and the actors will show up too.
One major snafu: NBC is contractually able to and has the right to broadcast any ceremony the Golden Globes put on.
So, the only way the Globes will proceed is if NBC honcho Jeff Zucker allowed the Hollywood Foreign Press to have the ceremony without them broadcasting it.
That seems like the best solution.
But don’t count on Zucker and NBC to do what’s best for Hollywood! They just care about money and ratings.
