Fans have been devouring all the Taylor Swift videos from last night’s big event, and a lot of them think she seemingly wasn’t standing for Jimmy Jam‘s actions on the red carpet for the Songwriters Hall of Fame!
As you know, the pop star was inducted into the 2026 class on Thursday night, making her the youngest woman to receive the honor! Incredible! It was supposed to be a night full of celebration for Taylor! But unfortunately, it also came with a bit of perceived drama! Keyword here being perceived!
While posing on the red carpet with Sombr, she bumped into songwriter and producer James Samuel “Jimmy Jam” Harris III. Taylor seemed so excited to see him at first, even giving him a big hug before introducing him to the Back to Friends artist. The three musicians then took a moment to snap a couple of pics together, and that’s when fans think s**t appears to go down.
Jimmy Jam wrapped his arm around Taylor’s waist and began rubbing it as she appeared to shout a firm, “Nope!” He immediately stopped, while the songstress continued to smile before laughing and looking down. Watch the moment (below):

Several fans picked up on that awkward moment, too! They reacted in the comments, saying:
“I’m just like, why?? Why would you do that? Why would you place your hand there in the first place”
“The difference between Somber and jimmy”
“Oh how I DESPISE TOUCHY PEOPLE LEAVE Taylor alone”
“travissssss someone messing with our girl”
“he should not have done that that’s gross”
“She did not like his hand placement. Don’t blame her! I’m uncomfortable”

However, others had a different theory! They think Taylor was actually telling the photographers no about one of their directions:
“I don’t think the nope was meant about his hand.”
“He’s literally telling her something as he’s doing that. That outloud nope was definitely at the photographer”
“I think she is saying nope to whatever the photographer had shouted at her”
“I feel like she said nope to the photographer saying ‘back it up'”
Hmm. Neither Taylor nor Jimmy Jam has addressed the now-viral interaction! But afterward, the pair continued to chat on the red carpet while she gave him a high five. No hug this time! She even seemed to try to keep his hands away from her hips as much as possible during the conversation! The Evermore singer asked if she would see him inside the venue or if he was sitting “near” her before possibly brushing him off:
“I feel like I’m no good at conversation right now.”
