We’re not surprised! If anyone could pull out another serious Oscar contender this early in the season, it would be Danny Boyle!
The director publicly debuted his latest film, 127 Hours – which chronicles the real life story of a man named Aron Ralston, who was forced to amputate his own arm after becoming stuck under a boulder – at the Toronto film festival, and it was reportedly met with a standing ovation from the audience!
Afterwards, Boyle, Rolston, and James Franco – who plays Rolston – took to the stage, and the real-life survivor thanked the filmmaker for convincing him to adapt his story to film.
He said:
“I have to say thank you to everyone who’s standing next to me on the stage. As a documentary it wouldn’t have been anywhere near as powerful as what that was. Thank you for convincing me otherwise.”
It sounds like this one’s definitely going to to generate a lot more buzz than it’s already starting to!
Definitely not an easy film to watch, but an important one to see!
What do U think?? Do U want to see 127 Hours??
