Aww, we’re so disappointed!
The Paul Thomas Anderson movie, The Master, that was loosely based on Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard, has been put on hold “indefinitely.”
What a bummer! Putting a movie on hold is like basically giving it a death sentence!
The movie was set to star Philip Seymour Hoffman as “The Master,” Jeremy Renner as his apprentice, and Reese Witherspoon as the Master’s wife, Mary Sue.
Co-star Renner told sources that “it really kind of stalled because when we were rehearsing – Phil, Paul and myself – we kept coming up against a wall that we couldn’t overcome. Or at least Paul couldn’t overcome.”
Meanwhile, Hoffman also spoke about the project, saying “I don├óΓé¼Γäót have any new information. I really mean that, I├óΓé¼Γäóm not being obtuse. I don├óΓé¼Γäót quite know what that is at the moment, but hopefully I will and hopefully I├óΓé¼Γäóll be part of something soon. It would be great to work with him again.”
Some say that it could just be logistics, however, others are speculating that the Church of Scientology was involved in stopping the development of the film.
With Reese Witherspoon being represented by CAA (Creative Artists Agency) – the same agency that represents Scientology member Tom Cruise and friend of CoS, Will Smith – we wonder if it was just a coincidence that the film has been stalled.
At the same time, Reese is also set to star in upcoming projects starring Tom and Will, which makes things even more curious.
What do U think?? Mere coincidence or conspiracy theory??
