Donald Trump skipped his son Don Jr.‘s big Memorial Day weekend wedding to Bettina Anderson, but his excuse was apparently a bunch of BS!
If you missed it, Trump went out of his way to announce he wouldn’t be at the nuptials, claiming it was “not good timing” for him due to the war in Iran. He added on Truth Social on Friday that “circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to” attend. While he jetted to New York for a quick campaign event for Republican Rep. Mike Lawler, he was in DC for most of the weekend.

But now sources are opening up about the REAL reason he couldn’t attend! And it turns out it was due to politics — family politics!
Insiders close to the family spilled the tea to Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack on Sunday, revealing it was Melania Trump who refused to attend! One explained:
“Melania did not want to spend a full weekend with Donald’s adult children from previous marriages. That tension has existed for years, even if nobody says it publicly.”
Damn!!!
Interestingly, her son Barron also skipped the wedding as he remains pretty disconnected from his older half-siblings, another insider claimed:
“Barron grew up in a completely different world from Don Jr., Eric, Ivanka, and Tiffany. There’s emotional distance there, and everyone in the family knows it.”
After Vanessa announced her breast cancer diagnosis last week, the mood surrounding the event also darkened. Oof. To make matters worse, Ivanka is dealing with an assassination threat! An insider said:
“That changed everything instantly. The second the Ivanka situation surfaced, the wedding stopped feeling like a celebration. The entire family went straight into security mode.”
The insider added:
“Nobody’s thinking about parties anymore. The mood now is fear, caution, and lockdown.”
Oof. We get that there’s a lot of tough stuff going on in the family, but we hope they were still able to celebrate the wedding! Sounds like the whole thing was a real downer!!
