Rumer Willis‘ custody battle with Derek Richard Thomas is getting messier!
As we have been reporting, the 37-year-old actress and her ex-boyfriend/baby daddy have been making alarming allegations against each other back and forth since their breakup as they fight over custody of their 3-year-old daughter, Louetta. Some of which, however, came from Rumer’s mom, Demi Moore, who accused Derek of making the baby’s birth all about himself, throwing a huge tantrum, and getting angry when she tried to help the new parents afterward in a declaration to back her up.
The Substance star specifically wrote that she returned the house with Scout Willis the day after the birth and Derek came into Rumer’s bedroom to “angrily complain that we were there cleaning.” She added:
“I heard him pressure Rumer not to have me and her sisters there with her for support. I heard him berate and angrily complain to Rumer, ‘How dare we come over without his permission.’ He stayed in the room with Rumer for at least 30 minutes that morning less than 12 hours after Rumer had given birth. He would not leave her alone. It ended only when Rumer left the room to get away from him.”
But Derek alleges there is more to the story of what happened! According to The US Sun on Friday, Derek claimed in a recent court filing that Rumer explicitly told him “directly that she did not want her family present for the first 40 days after Louetta’s birth in 2023.” However, Demi allegedly came over anyway — and threatened to “destroy” him:
“Nonetheless, on the day after Louetta was born, Ms. Moore and household staff members came into the home and caused a significant disturbance. On this occasion, Ms. Moore, apparently based on something said by [Rumer], threatened to ‘Destroy me.'”
Whoa!!
It’s unknown what Rumer told Demi in that moment, but whatever she said upset her enough that she went into mama bear mode Derek further claimed that throughout their relationship, Rumer “stated on several occasions that she wished to move to Texas or another out-of-state location in order to be free from her mother’s overbearing and hostile conduct.” He doesn’t get into the deets about the alleged “overbearing and hostile conduct” from Demi, but it is concerning if true!
