Batman, Superman and other superheroes will be allowed to perform on Hollywood Blvd, thanks to approval from a federal judge.
Judge Dean Pregerson ruled against selective police enforcement of Hollywood Boulevard’s costumed characters, who solicit tips in exchange for pictures with tourists, on Wednesday.
“I think if cops want to do their job correctly, go find a real criminal,” said Michael Jackson impersonator Sean Vezina.
Reports of aggressive panhandling and fights had police cracking down on unlicensed street performers, which led about two dozen arrests for crimes that included blocking the sidewalk.
That is a little extreme.
“It is all fun and games as long as they are just standing there,” said LAPD Sgt. Robert McDonald. “But in the past they have assaulted them when they have refused to give money.”
There was another report of Batman getting drunk while celebrating his birthday, and a Shrek performer getting into a fight with a homeless man.
LOLz.
