With Michael Jackson’s new album coming out next week, people are starting to focus on the kind of music that will be featured on the disc. One collaboration that has many puzzled is the track MJ recorded with 50 Cent called Monster.
How did this happen? Why did this happen? Why would the King of Pop concern himself with a rapper?
If your truly interested, producer Teddy Riley has the answers.
Teddy worked fairly closely with MJ when he was alive and produced the Monster track for the upcoming album. He reveals that Michael was “fascinated” by Fiddy’s life story, particularly the stories about the failed attempts by others to kill him and the colorful coverage of his personal life. Before he died, Michael reached out to Fiddy’s people and asked if they could record together. After his death, Teddy took up the reigns and got the rapper in the studio to lay down track to go along with the song.
And the rest his musical history.
Even after he’s gone, MJ still gets to make the kind of music only he could make. Truly unique.
