Passports Becoming "Gender Neutral"

In an interesting turn of events, it’s been announced that new passports will identify parental units in a “gender neutral” way. Now, guardians will be classified as either Parent 1 or Parent 2, instead of mother or father.

Now, this might seem rather silly to you, but the change is actually a positive step forward in recognizing children and parents in different families, like ones with two mommies or two daddies.

Fred Sainz, vice president of the Human Rights Campaign, called the news “a positive step forward for all American families. It was time that the federal government acknowledged the reality that hundreds of thousands of kids in this country are being raised by same-sex parents.”

We totally agree! Yeah for more equality for all!
