Just last week, the rocky ground on which the Real Housewives of New York stood was rocked again when Ramona Singer tweeted out a video to the world of her costar’s daughter acting very naughty.
The tape in question featured Countess LuAnn de Lesseps‘ daughter, Victoria, Skyping with a friend, allgedly rolling up a joint and dropping the N-word. Not much as been heard out of the Housewives/ Bravo camp since this happened, but today both LuAnn and Ramona are coming forward.
The Countess released a statement to sources, claiming that she is taking full responsibility as a parent to discipline her child for her “unacceptable” behavior. She said:
“I am the parent of a teenager, and as any parent can attest, teenagers go through periods of doing things that are wrong and not appropriate and that are later regretted. My daughter Victoria knows that the behavior she exhibited was unacceptable. I have chosen to deal with this as a private family matter and an opportunity to discuss consequences of our actions.”
As for Ramona and the consequences of her actions, she told the press that she unknowingly retweeted that information. She insisted to sources:
“I’m not very tech savvy, and [I’m] heartbroken that I accidentally retweeted this. I called Luann and Victoria immediately to apologize and tell them to remove the video. Regardless of our catfights on the show, our children are off-limits.”
Sounds rather apologetic, but we really can’t be sure. Guess we’ll just have to wait till we see it all unfold on the next season of RHONY.
Oh yeah. We’re told it’s all been caught on film.
