Sources are reporting that Adam Shankman has his heart set on casting Anne Hathaway in his film version of the stage musical Rock of Ages. As it stands, the movie’s already in deep talks with Tom Cruise and Russell Brand, so nabbing Anne would just round out the cast super nicely.
If he gets her, Adam wants her to play the female lead, Constance, a reporter for the Rolling Stone.
As for the roles of Drew and Sherrie, Shankman says he plans to “discover” the actors who will play those parts in the movie.
BTW, Sherrie is a small town girl from Kansas you eventually ends up having sex in a men’s bathroom with Cruise’s character.
Wow. That’s not going to be uncomfortable to watch at all.
We’re dying to hear Anne show off her killer vocals in a flick, but is this the right role for her? What the hell ever happened to that Judy Garland movie she was supposed to do? We’d rather see her toss on some ruby red shoes than knock around boots with Tommy!
