People don’t seem to be too enthralled by James Franco and Anne Hathaway‘s hosting debut last night, which is a total bummer.
We could place blame on any number of reasons. From writing to timing, it seems like there’s a list of them.
But the only thing we REALLY want to blame is the lack of HIGHlarious nudity!
Apparently, Arrested Development‘s Will Arnett wanted to recreate one of the most infamous moments of Oscar history…
… to streak the show like the one that happened during the 1974 show!
Here’s a bit about it:
“Producers planned for actor Will Arnett, who starred in Arrested Development, to recreate the [streaking] moment as a part of this year’s show, according to New York Magazine.
However, ABC ultimately decided to nix the idea due to the fear that pixellation would fail during the live broadcast. If that were to happen, the network would face a substantial fine from the FCC.”
What a lame reason! That delay is in place for a reason!
LOLz!
The Academy president even talked a bit about it:
“Any time you pay homage to those moments, I think it’s great. ABC wouldn’t allow it, and I understand why, but I would have laughed. I would have been shocked, but then I would have laughed.”
We would have too!
Would U have thought it was funny or offensive??
