Here are some statics we think you should all know, especially if you are, oh we don’t know, running in the Presidential election in 2012.

Let’s drop some knowledge on you:

According to a new poll conducted by the Williams Institute, at least 8 million adults in the United States identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual and about 700K are classified transgender. Tally all that up and 4% of the nation’s population is openly LGBT.

But don’t think you’re off the hook, the rest of you. You know you’re in our lot as well. The poll also found that 19 million people, or 8.2%, have “engaged in some relationships or sexual behavior with someone of the same sex.”

So, with those numbers in mind, it would be fairly prudent to consider the civil rights of such a large number of Americans, if you were, say, the leader of the free world, would it not?
