The legal drama continues!
Back in March, Bret Michaels was pursuing legal action against CBS and the Tony Awards for a head injury he sustained from a fall during the 2009 Tonys.
Now, he’s got a new lawsuit in the works against a cruise ship company.
Last month, Bret’s “Super Cruise” was cancelled, and as a result he’s suing Shoreline Tours because he claims the company was involved in a “‘a fraudulent scheme’ intended to get Michaels to drastically drop his agreed-upon fee for two performances on one of its cruises.”
According to the lawsuit, the original fee was $750,000 for two performances, but promoter Willie Donwell dropped out of the deal due to “health woes” and left the rest of the dealings to the cruise ship company.
The suit claims that Shoreline Tours paid Bret $250,000 initially, and then he was contacted by the company’s agent Tim Towle, who complained about “poor advance ticket sales.”
Shoreline then told Bret that they only wanted to pay him another $100,000, which is $400,000 less than the number originally agreed upon.
Bret is currently seeking TBD damages, as well as interest, court costs, and attorney’s fees in his lawsuit, which names Shoreline AND both Towle and Donwell.
Poor Bret! The guy is getting in lots of legal dramz lately, but we’ve got to admit, it seems like he may be in the right once again!
