After much back and forth, it seems Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong has opted to invite her fellow costars to attend the memorial service for her late husband Russell Armstrong, who committed suicide last week.
Taylor has been grieving privately since Russell took his own life and has made no appearances in public or released any personal statements on the tragedy. Inviting her costars to the memorial is the first time she has reached out to them since Russell’s death, even though she doesn’t necessarily get along with all of them. Still, according to an insider, Taylor recognizes how “supportive” the girls have all been since the start of this and wants her “friends around her” now that she needs it the most.
However, while Taylor has decided to include her costars in the service, she has decided that her 5-year-old daughter, Kennedy, will not be attending the memorial. As a source close to Taylor explains:
“Taylor doesn’t think it’s in Kennedy’s best interests to go to the memorial. It’s very hard to grasp as a 5-year-old, and given the way in which Russell died, well, Taylor doesn’t want Kennedy to accidentally overhear someone talking about Russell’s suicide. Taylor is protecting Kennedy, period. This little girl has been through enough with her parent’s divorce, and now having to deal with her dad’s death.”
If that is how she plans to protect her daughter, we don’t begrudge her that. People can be gruel and unaware and the last thing that little girl needs is to hear awful things said about her father when she’s still trying to come to terms with losing him.
So sad. Really. Despite everything that is being said about him, he was still this girl’s father, someone she admired in her own right. This poor kid has a tough road ahead of her. Poor thing.
