We’re not surprised, actually.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ season 2 premiere was a ratings bonanza, getting about 2.2 million viewers – a 42% increase from season one’s premiere.
Whoa.
The show also had a 51% increase in its target audience demographic, 18-49 year olds.
In case you missed the premiere, the episode opened up with the ladies (apart from Taylor Amstrong) discussing the suicide of Taylor’s husband Russell Armstrong.
People were genuinely curious to see if the show would address his death so there’s a possibility viewership will drop in the second episode. However, Bravo did confirm that they will be showing Taylor and Russell’s marriage counseling sessions, which will get people even more curious to watch.
We’ll just be relieved when we don’t have to hear about this story ever again.
It seems that tragedy does seem to sell.
