George Clooney and his producing partner Grant Heslov are teaming up again to produce a film about the iconic ’60s comedians, The Smothers Brothers.
Known for their topical and somewhat controversial humor, Tom and Dicky Smothers brought the laughs while also touching on relevant topics such as entertainment and politics.
A young Steve Martin and Chevy Chase were on the writing staff at one point.
And now George wants to bring their story to the big screen, which hopefully cover the time when President Richard Nixon put them on their blacklist, which eventually resulted in their firing from CBS.
Ouch! Sounds interesting though.
And if anyone can do it, it’s George. He’s definitely the man that’s up to the challenge.
Possible contender for Oscars 2013??
