Drink to that!
Bridesmaids is cleaning up this awards season, snagging everything from People’s Choice to last night’s honor at Critics Choice for Best Comedy Film of the year.
Indeed, the movie deserves all the accolades it gets, but the real kudos have to go to the ladies behind the movie, like Kristen Wiig. In her absence last night, producer Judd Apatow accepted the trophy for the film and felt it was nesecary to clear up one little misconception put forth by Jerry Lewis. In fact, he made sure to preface his speech by saying he wanted to make an “impact” with this “moment.” And with that, Judd said:
“Jerry Lewis once said that he didn’t women were funny. So I’d just like to say, with all respect, f*** you.”
Cue the standing O, exit stage left!
