Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren chronicles her experiences witnessing bullying as a schoolteacher.
In her It Gets Better video, she encourages LGBT youths to contact The Trevor Project to find comfort against bullying. She makes an effort to reach out to the troubled youths.
What an inspiration!
The It Gets Better Project is a campaign started by Dan Savage and his husband in 2010.
Savage started the project after hearing the appalling numbers of suicides related to bullying.
Warren also wants to repeal the Defense Against Marriage Act if she is elected as well.
The candidate said the following on the matter:
I find it personally offensive that the federal government would pass a law to say that the terms of marriage should be left to the states; and then each state must recognize every other state’s marriage laws and then the federal government will recognize those laws except in the case of marriage equality. To discriminate against our own people and to enshrine that in federal law appalls me
Warren is running for Senate in Massachusetts.
