Well, it’s not prom, but it’s one HELL of a fallback!
As we reported, Kevin McGuire, an 18-year-old high school football star who has been battling leukemia since he was 13 and recently relapsed, had a Facebook page set up by his sister on which she invited Taylor Swift to be his date to Prom!
Well, the country cutie unfortunately cannot make it to the big night, but she did him one better – by inviting him to be HER date to the Academy of Country Music Awards!
She wrote:
“Kevin, I’m so sorry but I won’t be able to make it to your prom. But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up… Would you be my date?”
Ahhh! Such an incredible, sweet, and wonderful gesture!
And even though Kevin is in the hospital right now, he made sure to say yes!
He reveals:
“Obviously I said yes. [The ACM Awards] is a lot better than the senior prom.”
This makes us sooo happy! We couldn’t be more thrilled for you!
You and Taylor are going to have such a lovely, special evening!
