Doobie Brothers drummer Michael Hossack succumbed to cancer Monday. He was surrounded by his loved ones when he died at his home in Dubois, WY.
For those of you who don’t know, the rocker joined the band in 1971, a year after original Doobie Bros Greg Murphy, John Hartman, and Tommy Johnston formed the band.
After taking a hiatus to help Vietnam vets in 1973, Hossack returned to the band and played until he became sick in 2010.
The Doobie Brothers released the following statement to their fallen brother’s fam:
Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and loved ones. We will miss him greatly
R.I.P. Michael Hossack. You’ll be terribly missed.
