Hollywood just can’t stay out of the 80s!
For those of you who fell in with RoboCop in 1987, think again before you quickly call this reboot a knock-off.
The new man inside the suit, Joel Kinnaman says he’s a super fan of the original and wants to do it justice but he also revealed new deets on the 2013 version.
For starters, RoboCop will have a battle with his humanity. Kinnaman states that the new flick will tackle Alex Murphy’s existential issues within his world. Plus, his visor will be see-through, so viewers can see his eyes.
Kinnaman says the following about the flick’s new tone:
[The ‘RoboCop’ reboot] is going to be a lot more human. The [original] movie is one of my favorite movies. I love it. Of course, [director Paul Verhoeven] has that very special tone, and [the reboot] is not going to have that tone.
It’s a re-imagination of it. There’s a lot of stuff from the original. There are some details and throwbacks, but this version is a much better acting piece, for Alex Murphy and especially when he is RoboCop. It’s much more challenging.
Oh, and in case you were worried about a PG-13 rating, you can forget about it!
Kinnaman says he’ll fight hard for R rating, which is rare, because PG-13 means more money.
But, to do the original justice, this flick needs to be brutal! LOLz!
Are U excited about a RoboCop reboot?!
