You know – and we’re being completely honest here – last night’s episodes of Glee may have been our favorite of the series.
Okay, one of the episodes. Okay, one part of one of the episodes. Okay, we really loved our scenes in Nationals. Weren’t they so good?! Reliving those moments gave us such a high! Being there, being in the middle of something we’ve grown to love and appreciate so much … there are no words. It was a moment in time we will never forget.
We really doubt any of you missed last night’s Glee double-header, but in case you did, we’re here to recap every AMAZING MOMENT! Read on, Gleeks! Read on!
WARNING: HEY! GUESS WHAT? THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD! WE KNOW, SHOCKING RIGHT? BUT THERE ARE! AMAZING ONES! FUNNY ONES! HEARTBREAKING ONES! SPOILERS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SCREAM! TAKE THE HINT – WATCH THE EPISODE! THEN COME ON BACK AND READ OUR THOUGHTS!
Where to begin? SO much to cover! Well, we should kick things off by directing your attention to that mug up top. That’s a pic from our pivotal scene with one Miz Lindsay Lohan. As you might’ve read somewhere, Linds and Perez were two parts of the three part judging panel who held the fate of the New Directions in their hands at Nationals. Between Perez, Lindsay and Mistah Rex Lee, we had to decide whether Rachel Berry and Co. would walk away with a National title before graduation.
But before all that, some other major storylines needed to be resolved. In the first hour of Glee, we learned that Coach Beiste finally found the strength to walk away from her abusive marriage, with a little help from another lost soul, Noah Puckerman. Together, the unlikely duo persevere through their dark days, with Beiste finding a new lease on life, while getting Puck a second chance at actually graduating. That’s right, the Mohawk is getting fitted for a cap and tassel, ya’ll!
Meanwhile, Rachel Berry continues to have an identity crisis, but it’s Tina who actually has some real trouble figuring out who she is after getting a pretty nasty bump on the head. When she comes to, she’s donning knee highs with Mary Janes and feels a deep devotion to Barbra Streisand. Body swap time!!! Yes, in her fever dream, Tina is Rachel… and Blaine is Puck. And Santana is Artie. And Quinn does NOT have enough moments as Sugar Motta. (Hands down the best impersonation of the night!) As Tina spends an act in Rachel’s shoes, she learns just hard it is to be the Directions’ diva and when she comes to, Tina vows to help her friend achieve her New York dreams. The girls Thelma and Louise out to see NYADA’S Carmen Tibideaux and plead with her to attend their Nationals performance. Carmen, played by the exquisite Whoopi Goldberg, makes no promises.
But then she shows up; grabs a seat third row to be blown away by the vocal prowess of Berry. Know who else is there? PEREZ! Oh, and Lindsay! But most importantly – JONATHAN GROFF! Seeing him in that blazer and tapping into his role as Jesse St. James just sent our heart to fluttering. As his Vocal Adrenaline kids headed into the “Hunger Games of show choir competitions,” its seemed very likely he would win with the help of his superstar performer, Unique. Our favorite new Pretty (Wo)Man SLAYED a Nicki Minaj cover and made pinball machines look HOT!
But in the end, no one could deny that this was a time for everyone’s favorite underdogs to have their day. The New Directions are crowned National champions and the energy is simply electric! And when our Glee kids get back to school, they finally get the reception from their peers that they deserve. Cynicism be damned! We loved all the confetti fun!
Just in time for their pomp and circumstance!
Oh, and one last thing – Wemma fans, this is for you – Will Schuester got LAID! LOL!
Phew! Longest three years of our lives!!! According to him though (who ends up being crowned Teacher of the Year), it was well worth the wait.
Actually, we could say the same thing about this whole episode. To watch those kids win it all … okay yes, we cried a little. Just a little. Barely a tear formed. It was more of a lump in our throats. A pebble is more accurate. God, do we love this show.
Next week … it all comes to an end. Graduation. Season three. Will we lose Dianna and Amber? Mark or Chord? Will Rachel go to New York … sans her Finny?!
Okay, the pebble is back. We need to go. Oh, but one more thing — our only side note this week:
Thanks to everyone who tuned in and had such beautiful and encouraging things to say about our guest spot. We appreciate and accept your lovely thoughts and send them right back at ya ten-fold!
