Can you believe Gloria Estefan is just a couple months shy of turning 55!?
She certainly doesn’t look like it on the August issue of Latina magazine! Seriously, Gloria looks better than most of the starlets that are half her age. It’s incredible.
While we may not know Estefan’s secret to the fountain of youth, we DO know what she talked about with the magazine.
Inside the pages of the music issue, the icon that is Gloria opens up on being a role model to fellow Latinas, her 30+ year marriage to Emilio Estefan, fame and recovering from that horrific bus crash in 1990.

On being a role model to Latinas:
“Inspiring Latinas is the most beautiful side product of my career. It├óΓé¼Γäós a beautiful thing to inspire somebody in some way and make them feel, ‘I can do this.'”
On how to have a successful marriage:
“We are partners in everything. Emilio has been there for me and I├óΓé¼Γäóve been there for him and his growth. It├óΓé¼Γäós been a great balance.”
On the trappings of fame and stardom:
“Forget the money and the notoriety, because you don├óΓé¼Γäót take that home and put it to bed with you. What difference does it make if you have all this fame and people are clamoring for you and you├óΓé¼Γäóre off that stage and you├óΓé¼Γäóre home alone?”
Her love advice to college-bound daughter, Emily:
“It├óΓé¼Γäós really important that you know the person. Emilio and I were together for two years before we got married. He was my love.”
On overcoming the grueling recovery from a devastating car crash:
“Maybe this is the whole point, to show people that you can rise above, and you can be strong and that you can get past the things that life throws your way.”
