19-year-old Savannah Ramirez (pictured above) accidentally shot and killed her brother, Manuel Ortiz (pictured above), during a Facebook photo sesh on New Year’s Eve.
While partying at Manuel’s Phoenix, Arizona apartment, a friend of the siblings thought it would be swell to take out a gun to pose with and while Savannah innocently played around, the gun went off and into Manuel’s head. He died instantly.
Whether or not the group knew the weapon was loaded remains to be discovered, as the police continue to investigate the tragic incident.
Police Sgt. Steve Martos said:
“Every New Year’s Eve, this particular sister is going to be thinking about this for the rest of her life on how…drinking overnight, playing with a gun and now shoots and kills her brother.”
If alcohol tests come back positive for Savannah, then it is more than likely that she will be charged with manslaughter.
This is just another example why we need some serious gun control!!!
