South Carolina Personal Trainer's Family Issues Telling Message Amid Mysterious Death As Friend Worries Things Aren't Adding Up

South Carolina Personal Trainer's Family Issues Telling Message Amid Mysterious Death

The family and friends of Elena Katherine Moore are speaking out.

As we previously reported, the personal trainer was reported missing by her husband, Brannon Slice (pictured above), earlier this month. Elena was last seen working out at Planet Fitness on June 11. She signed in at 6:40 p.m. and left a few hours later before wandering into the woods behind Lowe’s, where she vanished. And after days of searching, police sadly discovered a body in those woods that matched Elena’s description.

Her manner and cause of death are currently unknown. A report from the Lexington County Coroner, however, revealed no physical struggle, as well as no bruising, cuts, gunshot wounds, stab wounds, blunt-force trauma, strangulation, or other external injuries. The histological studies and toxicology screenings aren’t finished, so police still have no clue what happened to Elena. It is a giant mystery.

And while waiting for answers, the loved ones have a telling message for the public. Lee Snell, a close friend of Elena, shared a statement on Facebook on Sunday, seemingly on behalf of the family since they are tagged in the post. She wrote:

“We are all deeply saddened and distressed. This amazing couple were married two years ago by my husband in Columbia, South Carolina. I have been in daily contact with Brannon and his family. At this time, we respectfully request that Sondra Rachelle Campbell cease and desist from contacting Brannon or news outlets with her ‘stories.’ The details surrounding the situation are forthcoming. Please respect Brannon’s privacy at this time. … Elena has a story and Brannon wants to share it when the time is appropriate to do so in hopes of helping others.”

It sounds like Elena was struggling behind the scenes…

Meanwhile, Sondra has been very vocal in the media since Elena’s disappearance. She told NewsNation she suspected foul play had been involved, especially since Elena was having marital issues with Brannon:

“I do believe there’s foul play. I think my friend was struggling for her life. I think she was literally afraid for her life. There has been issues, they were trying to separate. This is red flags to me.”

It’s important to note that law enforcement said they didn’t suspect foul play and Elena’s husband was “not a person of interest at the current moment.” Sondra is adamant she thinks something isn’t adding up here, though. The pal explained to Fox News that Elena “was scared for her life” when she last saw her on May 31. And when Sondra asked what was wrong, the personal trainer allegedly wanted to discuss it privately because “there’s too many people around.” Sondra then missed a phone call from Elena on June 4 and tried to call and text back but never got a response. And Elena died days later.

Despite her suspicions, Sondra acknowledged to NewsNation that Elena struggled with anxiety:

“She loved her life. She looked forward to days. When she had bad days, she still had clients. She still showed up for them. So mental illness and the things that are being said about her, it just doesn’t make sense until this last week of really starting around what you saw on that camera.”

Sondra is talking about surveillance footage reportedly from a week before her disappearance, in which she looked confused while trying to enter her and Brannon’s home following a DoorDash order. See HERE.

Hopefully, the family will share answers about what happened to Elena soon. Reactions to the statement, Perezcious readers? Let us know.
