Beyonce‘s people are getting sued left and right these days!
First, Chris Marsh sues designer, Thierry Mugler, B’s costume designer, for non-payment of moneys due.
Now, the songstress herself is being sued by none other than Ambercrombie & Fitch!
Yesterday, Beyonce announced her partnership with high-end beauty company, Coty, to collaborate together on a fragrance.
According to the statement released by both parties, the fragrance has yet to be named. Contrary to this assertion, however, according to court documents, Beyonce filed a letter-of-intent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office earlier in the month to expand the Sasha Fierce trademark into the fragrance realm.
Unfortunately for Beyonce, however, A&F released their fragrance, Fierce, in 2002 and trademarked it in 2003. Consequently, Abercrombie’s attorneys sent Beyonce a cease-and-desist letter, but the Single Ladies singer persisted in her pursuit of rights to use the name.
So now, following yesterday’s announcement about the scent, A&F has filed suit against Beyonce.
No word yet from Beyonce’s attorneys, but we’re sure she’ll come out swinging.
