Ha, even Abercrombie & Fitch is over its superficial hiring policy!
In a recent press release the company has outlined several major changes they’ll be making in their stores and hiring policies in order to bring in more customers, and appease shareholders, naturally.

Most notably, sales associates will no longer have to look quintessentially “hot” to be given jobs at the company’s stores in the first place.
A&F’s notorious “Look Policy” banned heavy makeup, including eyeliner, French-tip manicures, certain hair-styling products and even mustaches.
Employees were also referred to as “models,” but now, they will be called brand representatives.
Moreover, there won’t be shirtless men baring their abs at every store opening, nor will advertisements be as sexualized as they were in previous years, with completely naked models in some cases.
Former CEO Mark Jeffries caught a lot of flack a few years ago for stating that he didn’t want people who weren’t conventionally attractive to shop at Abercrombie.
With sales declining in recent years as well, Jeffries’ management decisions suddenly didn’t seem so great, and he was let go.
Only time will tell if the new direction the company is heading in will actually get people excited for the brand again.
