Oh Martha!
The reigning queen of homemaking, Miz Martha Stewart, is feeling some backlash due to a comment she made yesterday when hosting Roberto Cavalli on her show.
Cavalli put together a fashion show, and when it was time to wrap it up, to end the segment, Martha said, “Everybody who’s not thin enough to wear these dresses: go on a little diet. I’m going on a diet!”
Some people are interpreting this as a serious suggested and are taking offense, but we think she was mostly complimenting the pretty dresses but noting that for most women, such small sizes aren’t realistic. We doubt she was actually urging her viewers to become model thin to fit into a dress they’ll likely never own. We also sort of feel like she’s acknowledging – as we previously opined – that her viewers aren’t exactly Roberto Cavalli’s target audience.
