Wow, wow, wow!
For months people have speculated about Raf Simons‘s first show as the creative director of Christian Dior would look.
Would his modern minimalist style mesh with the romantic image of the French fashion house? Or would he go in a completely different direction?
The fashion industry got their answer on Monday and it was…
A hit!
Simons drew from the label’s history and got inspiration from the “bar” jacket, introduced in 1947.
After the show, everyone had something to say. Donatella Versace stated:
“Before the show, I found it difficult to imagine what Raf would do at Dior, but from the very first look today it made total sense.”
Lanvin‘s Alber Elbaz added the collection was “absolutely poetic. It was perfection. Today was a beautiful marriage between a designer and a house.”
The clothes were actually quite beautiful and very wearable, if we do say so ourselves. We look forward to see what Raf has in store for Dior!
