Well, sort of unexpectedly. After having the worst season start since 1989, with a record of 1-7, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones fired coach Wade Phillips yesterday and replaced him with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.
Jones’ decision came after an embarrassing 45-7 loss against the Green Bay Packers.
“I recognized after the game we just weren’t playing winning football and our best chance was to make a change,” said Jones.
We feel sort of bad for the old coach! He’s not the ONLY one responsible for winning football games!
