Kansas City Chiefs Coach's Wife Shot - And Their Son's The One Accused Of Doing It!

Oh, no! Kansas City Chiefs‘ offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy has suffered a family tragedy.

Eric’s wife, Mia Bieniemy, was shot — allegedly by their son Elijah Zion Bieniemy! OMG! A rep for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office told TMZ on Monday that the incident took place at the family’s home in Ashburn, Virginia, on Sunday night.

A police report notes the shooting took place at around 7:32 p.m. local time and the 57-year-old was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when authorities arrived. It’s unclear what led to the attack.

According to officials who spoke to ESPN, the victim was taken to the hospital with “serious injuries,” though they didn’t reveal the person’s identity.

Elijah, 27, was arrested and is being held without bail. He has been charged with Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Discharge of a Firearm Inside of a Dwelling. See his mug shot (below):

Heartbreakingly, Eric was miles and miles away in Missouri preparing for training camp at the time of the attack. We cannot imagine how he must’ve felt when he heard the news. The Chiefs released a brief statement acknowledging the incident, saying:

“The club is aware of the incident involving Eric Bieniemy’s family. Out of respect for their privacy, we won’t have a comment at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”

According to ESPN Chiefs reporter Nate Taylor via X (Twitter) on Monday morning, Mia is in stable condition at this time.

An investigation remains ongoing. Our hearts are with Mia. We hope she recovers fully!
