Mitt Romney, a scholar of everything Olympics, is talking about the Olympics.
In fact, he thinks they’re going to be “highly successful.”
We dare you not to read that in a stereotypical rich person’s voice.
At first, though, he sparked some WTF looks for comments that questioned Britain’s readiness to host the games.
So of course he’s saying the opposite now!
Taking from his years of studying the Olympics at various prestigious educational institutes around the world, he said some things always go wrong but that the games prove successful once the athletes become the focus.
Here’s what he said:
“It is impossible for absolutely no mistakes to occur. Of course there will be errors from time to time, but those are all overshadowed by the extraordinary demonstrations of courage, character and determination by the athletes.”
Okay, we might be exaggerating about Romney’s studies (like making it all up as a goof), but he DID serve as the head of the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City.
So yeah, we guess he WOULD know a little bit about them!
He probably shouldn’t be dissin’ Britain though!
