Dogs (and their owners) just keep outdoing themselves!
This past April, Iraq War veteran, Troy Yocum began a journey to walk across America in hopes of raising $5 million dollars for military families!
He’s not doing it alone either! With him for the entire 16 month, 7000 mile journey is his dog, Emerson Elaine Eskridge, AKA Emmie. She is a Shiba Inu, a small, agile breed of mountain dog from Japan. Emmie is able to hike up to 25 miles a day with Troy, often leading the walk! Troy estimates that he will have taken 50 million steps by the end of the trip – double that for Emmie!
Troy and Emmie’s mission for the trip is simple:
Is to further spread the word that our American Heroes are fighting just as hard at home as they do overseas. We hope to provide a peace of mind and lay the foundation for military families in need to succeed. Troy will literally put one foot in front of the other, crossing the great states of America to reach people and help spread the importance of helping our military families.
What a wonderful story! The two love each other very much, as well as the cause they are walking for!
Will U support them?!
