This is a sad story.
Peter Evershed was killed by a pride of lions at Chitake Springs bush camp, a wildlife viewing area near the Mana Pools nature reserve in Zimbabwe.
Evershed was taking a shower under a tree as it began to get dark when he was attacked. The lions did not leave the site until a safari operator came and shot in the air.
It has been said that animals have been more traumatized recently due to a surge in hunting in the area. This has caused them to fear humans and attack more often than they have in the past.
There have been a few deaths in this area as the animals become more and more unpredictable.
Many of the deaths have been to people who had come out to try to help these animals, such as Steve Kok who was killed by a buffalo as he was destroying traps left by poachers.
We just hope these people stop killing the animals, we don’t want them to be scared.
They only hurt people because don’t know any better!
