Elephant crushes zookeeper to death

This is such a terrible tragedy.

Stephanie James, a 33-year-old zookeeper and elephant trainer, was crushed to death by an 8,000 pound elephant named Edie at a zoo in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Reports say the elephant pressed its trainer against the wall and kept pushing, until James died of internal injuries.

We don’t even want to imagine the pain she felt before her untimely and tragic death.

It’s such a shame to hear this news, but at the end of the day, even animals in the zoo are still wild at heart and unpredictable at times.

Zoo officials say Edie, the 26-year-old elephant, will not be punished and how could she? The gal probably wasn’t even aware of the damage she was causing her poor trainer.

We wish Stephanie’s family and friends the best as they deal with her loss.
