Uggie The Dog Is Retiring!

Uggie, the amazingly talented dog, from Acadamey Award nominatee The Artist, is going to be retiring!
He is ten years old which is in his 70s in dog years!
Now it seems like his appearances at the Golden Collar awards and then the Oscars will be his last major appearances.
On major movies, like The Artist, Uggie and his trainers had to work 15 hour days.
One of Uggie’s trainers said:

“We don├óΓé¼Γäót force our dogs to do this. And it always has to be fun for them. Uggie’s still enjoying it but he├óΓé¼Γäós getting up there and he├óΓé¼Γäós slowing down a little.
He├óΓé¼Γäós at the stage where he just says, ‘I think I want to go and lay in the sun by the pool.'”

But don’t worry about Uggie disappearing completely. He’s still open to doing commercial or short films.
He may even have a reality TV show in the works!
So even though he’s retiring, he has a brother, Dash, who is planning to pick up where Uggie left off.
Let’s hope Dash is as Oscar-worthy as his brother.
