New England Aquarium Welcomes First Northern Fur Seal Babe!

Say hello to the New England Aquarium’s first Northern fur seal babe!
As part of their extensive breeding program, the aquarium has welcomed its first pup born within its confines, joining Mama Ursula and Papa Isaac.
Northern fur seals are very rare and can only be found in the northern Pacific and Alaska and they were once hunted to the brink of extinction.
Now, they are a thriving species and the New England Aquarium has seven of the 13 in American captivity.
We can’t wait to see this pup when he grows up!
