The Finns see correlations in canine compulsions and human OCD. Both begin in sexual maturity and the compulsiveness can vary.
Hannes Lohi, a professor of canine genomics at the University of Helsinki, says the following:
Some of these compulsions are more common in certain breeds, which suggests a genetic factor.
There might be a shared biology behind the development of the disease.
